We machine king nipples, KC crimp nipples and the ferrules that go with them on our own CNC line in Taiwan — FDKP and FDKS combination nipples from 1/2" to 12" in NPT or BSP SCH120, FDK5N and FDK6N crimp nipples from 1-1/2" to 6". Australia and New Zealand run on BSP. Most catalogue stock sold out of North America is NPT. The two look similar enough to cross-thread, and that mistake is expensive once an assembly is already crimped. Here is the difference, plainly.

The 1/2" and 3/4" trap. At 1/2" and 3/4", BSP and NPT happen to share the same 14 threads per inch. A BSP hose barb fitting will start to turn into an NPT port and feel like it is going in correctly. It is not — the 55° and 60° flanks never mate, so the joint will weep under pressure and both threads end up damaged. At 1" the pitches diverge (NPT 11.5 TPI, BSP 11 TPI) and the mismatch is obvious. Always confirm the standard on the drawing before you order.

Most of the king nipple pages you will find are distributor stock pages. They are the right answer when you need two pieces off a shelf in your own country tomorrow morning. We are not that — we are the factory in Taiwan that machines the part, and that is worth something different.

The last row is the one distributors rarely solve. A king nipple and its crimp ferrule only work as a pair: the serration profile on the shank and the bore of the ferrule have to be cut to the same numbers. When the two are sourced from separate factories, the assembly house finds out at the crimping press. We machine FDKP, FDKS, FDK5N and FDK6N nipples and the F50, F60 and F70 ferrule families in the same building, which is why we quote them together.

The 2" FDK5N is machined from CH40 heavy-wall tube, so quantity is confirmed at quotation. The 5" is made in BSP as well as NPT — ask for it on the enquiry. FDKP and FDKS king nipples from 1/2" to 12", the F50, F60 and F70 ferrule families and the FIS4 camlocks are all quoted per enquiry. Prices are FOB Taiwan; lead time is confirmed with the quotation against the size, material and quantity you need.
A large share of what leaves this factory carries somebody else's name on it. We manufacture T-bolt clamps for several leading US and European brands under their own labels, and the same arrangement is open on the king nipple and ferrule ranges.
